Westminster Q61: Are all they saved who hear the gospel, and live in the church?

(Joh 12:38-40) This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet which he spoke: "LORD, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT? AND TO WHOM HAS THE ARM OF THE LORD BEEN REVEALED?" For this reason they could not believe, for Isaiah said again, "HE HAS BLINDED THEIR EYES AND HE HARDENED THEIR HEART, SO THAT THEY WOULD NOT SEE WITH THEIR EYES AND PERCEIVE WITH THEIR HEART, AND BE CONVERTED AND I HEAL THEM."

(Rom 9:6) But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For they are not all Israel who are descended from Israel;

(Rom 11:7) What then? What Israel is seeking, it has not obtained, but those who were chosen obtained it, and the rest were hardened;

(Mat 7:21) "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.

(Mat 22:14) "For many are called, but few are chosen."
