Q50: Wherein consisted Christ's humiliation after his death?
A50: Christ's humiliation after his death consisted in his being buried,[1] and continuing in the state of the dead, and under the power of death till the third day;[2] which hath been otherwise expressed in these words, he descended into hell.
  1. (1Co 15:3-4) For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

  2. (Psa 16:10) For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol; Nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.

    (Act 2:24-27, 31) "But God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power.     (Mat 12:40) for just as JONAH WAS THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS IN THE BELLY OF THE SEA MONSTER, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
