Q32: How is the grace of God manifested in the second covenant?
A32: The grace of God is manifested in the second covenant, in that he freely provideth and offereth to sinners a Mediator,[1] and life and salvation by him;[2] and requiring faith as the condition to interest them in him,[3] promiseth and giveth his Holy Spirit [4] to all his elect, to work in them that faith,[5] with all other saving graces;[6] and to enable them unto all holy obedience,[7] as the evidence of the truth of their faith [8] and thankfulness to God,[9] and as the way which he hath appointed them to salvation.[10]
  1. (Gen 3:15) And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel."

    (Isa 42:6) "I am the LORD, I have called You in righteousness, I will also hold You by the hand and watch over You, And I will appoint You as a covenant to the people, As a light to the nations,

    (Joh 6:27) "Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal."

  2. (1Jn 5:11-12) And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.

  3. (Joh 1:12) But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,

    (Joh 3:16) "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

  4. (Pro 1:23) "Turn to my reproof, Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you.

  5. (2Co 4:13) But having the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, "I BELIEVED, THEREFORE I SPOKE," we also believe, therefore we also speak,

  6. (Gal 5:22-23) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

  7. (Eze 36:27) "I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances.

  8. (Jas 2:18, 22) But someone may well say, "You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works." . . . (Jas 2:22) You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected;

  9. (2Co 5:14-15) For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died; and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.

  10. (Eph 2:18) for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.
